SuZI

SuZI was born Susie C Sheard in Chicago Illinois, just hours after her family had attended her great grandmother’s funeral, whom she was named “Susie” after. As it was the end of her great grandmother’s life, it was only the beginning of the life of SuZI.

SuZI was raised back and forth between Saginaw and Detroit, Michigan, attending school in both cities. At age 5, SuZI began writing poems and performing for her family. As her father James, sang backup and cousin, Arnell Carmichael was part of “Raydio” with Ray Parker Jr, and also worked closely with Teena Marie and other popular acts of that time.

SuZI’s mother wrote poetry, and SuZI’s aunts formed a girl group, who went on to become acquainted with Motown Records, which led to SuZI’s family being very close friends with popular acts in the industry, such as The Jackson’s, The Leverts, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Morris Day, Roger Troutman, Rick James, and many more. SuZI had an inclination for music and poetry at an early age. She would also listen to her older brother and cousin rap, and therefore began to write lyrics of her own, to garner their attention.

SuZI continued to write lyrics and at age 11, relocated to Atlanta, Ga, with her mother and older sister. Soon after, she would go into the studio for the first time, being coached by her mother’s then fiancée, “Royal C”, of “The Hard Boyz”. At 13, SuZI would then go on to move to Naples, FL, where she captivated and gained a new fan base with her rapping ability. She was very well known for her penmanship, throughout all of her years of schooling, and has won numerous awards for talent shows, poetry slams, freestyle battles, and more.

In 2013, SuZI was introduced to Raul Conde of Terror Squad, where he would go on to becoming her manager. She was then socializing and working with top producers and artists, such as, Scott Storch, Illa, DJ Khaled, Jim Jones, Noreaga, and Fat Joe, to name a few. In 2018, SuZI landed a deal with Trina’s “Rockstarr Music Group” and was featured in an episode on the second season of “Love & Hip Hop: Miami”.

February, 2018, “Diamonds”, SuZI’s first single, released under Rockstarr Music Group’s compilation album. She has since taken a step back from the artist side of her career, to begin songwriting and vocal producing for other mainstream and up and coming artists. Having so far written records for Trina, Nikki Natural, SNOW, plus more. SuZI has become a Gold/Platinum vocal producer, after her contribution to Latto’s smash record, “Bitch From Da Souf Remix”.

SuZI has embraced a new start and has formed her own production company, titled “The Plaque Chaserz”, which has acquired a certified Gold and Platinum record within its first year of business. SuZI is currently based in Los Angeles and is actively writing/producing.
